This highly ecclectic piece of work is a filmic documentation of the shooting of Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul's melodramatic feature film, Tropical Malady (2005). The camera follows the film crew and actors through the jungle, revealing behind-the-scenes activities such as the setting up and de-rigging of scenes at different locations, as well as the actors going through various "takes." Though seemingly fragmented, Worldly Desires is organized around scenes shot during the day, and a rather quarky musical number that was shot at night. From the Jeonju International Film Festival.
